About StrazX
A custom 3D printing and laser engraving shop in Byron Center, Michigan. One shop. Four capabilities. Direct communication from quote to delivery.
[PLACEHOLDER: My Story]
[PLACEHOLDER: Why you started StrazX. What you were making before it became a business. What problem you were solving or what capability you wanted to bring to West Michigan. Keep it honest and direct — no corporate origin story, just the real version.]
[PLACEHOLDER: What drives the work. What you care about — the craftsmanship, the community, the satisfaction of making something that didn't exist before. One or two paragraphs that sound like you, not a press release.]
StrazX is based in Byron Center and serves customers across West Michigan and nationwide. Every order is made in-house — no outsourcing, no dropshipping. When you order from StrazX, you're working directly with the person who makes it.
What Matters Here
These aren't tagline buzzwords. They're the actual things that shape how every order gets handled.
Craftsmanship over volume
StrazX isn't a high-volume print farm. Every order gets the right settings, the right material, the right amount of attention. A piece that doesn't meet the standard doesn't ship.
West Michigan community
Byron Center is home. Supporting local businesses, taking on local projects, and keeping maker capability in West Michigan matters. That said, StrazX ships nationwide — good work travels.
Honest quotes, no surprises
The price in your quote is the price you pay. If something changes mid-project, it gets communicated before it becomes a problem. No hidden fees, no scope creep, no "we forgot to mention."
Making things that last
The goal is work that's still around in 10 years. Material choices, layer settings, finish quality — all of it is decided with longevity in mind, not just getting the order out the door.
Four Capabilities, One Shop
Here's what the equipment can do — and what that means for your project.

3D Printing — FDM
Fused deposition modeling (FDM) builds objects layer by layer from thermoplastic filament. It's the workhorse process for functional parts, prototypes, display pieces, and anything that needs structural integrity or complex geometry.
- Materials: PLA (rigid, broad color range), PETG (more durable, chemical-resistant), specialty filaments on request
- Layer heights: 0.1mm (fine detail) to 0.3mm (faster structural prints)
- Max build volume: [PLACEHOLDER — add your printer's build volume]
- Post-processing: light sanding, acetone smoothing (ABS), primer-ready surface available
- Color matching: large PLA library — ask about specific colors or multi-color prints

Laser Engraving
A focused laser beam removes material to create permanent marks on wood, acrylic, leather, coated metals, and more. Used for everything from personalized gifts to professional business signage. The result is precise, durable, and doesn't fade.
- Materials: hardwood (maple, walnut, cherry, birch), plywood, MDF, acrylic, leather, cork, slate, coated metals, glass (with prep)
- Max work area: [PLACEHOLDER — add your engraver's bed size]
- File formats: SVG, AI, PDF, DXF (vector); PNG/JPG at 300+ DPI (raster/photo)
- Two modes: engraving (removes material for depth/shading) and cutting (clean cuts through sheet material)
- Photo engraving available — portraits, landscapes, logos converted to grayscale burns

3D Crystal Subsurface Engraving
A sub-surface laser fires thousands of precision pulses inside a block of optical-grade K9 crystal, creating micro-fracture points that form a 3D image visible from any angle. The crystal stays perfectly smooth on the outside — the image lives inside.
- Crystal types: cube, rectangle, iceberg, heart, oval, and custom shapes
- Standard sizes: 2x2", 3x3", 4x4" and larger on request
- Supports: 2D flat engravings, full 3D depth map conversions from photos
- Photo requirements: high-resolution, front-facing, sharp focus — StrazX reviews every file before production
- LED illuminated display bases available (enhance visibility of the engraving)
- Popular uses: memorial keepsakes, photo gifts, wedding/anniversary pieces, corporate awards
Equipment Overview
The Process
No guesswork, no surprises. Here's what happens from first message to delivery.
-
Inquire
Fill out the quote request form or send an email to [email protected]. The more detail the better — project type, dimensions, materials, deadline, quantity. File attachments welcome. No idea too niche.
-
Quote
Receive a clear, itemized quote within 1–2 business days. The quote covers materials, production time, and shipping. Questions are answered directly. Once approved, production is scheduled — typically starting within 1–3 days depending on queue.
-
Make
Your order is made in the Byron Center shop. For complex projects, progress photos are shared at key milestones. If something doesn't look right, it gets flagged and resolved before the next step. The goal is to get it right, not just get it done.
-
Deliver
Finished orders ship via standard carrier with tracking. Orders over $45 ship free. Fragile items (crystal, complex prints) are packed with care. If something arrives damaged, StrazX makes it right.
